Description: This is one of a group of rare & original Mid-19th Century 'wanted' posters collected by a local elderly gentleman - during his life-time he accumulated a vast collection of social history linked to Dorking in Surrey & Horsham in West Sussex. Ten Pounds Reward in 1863 would be approximately £1200 in today's ££ - a considerable sum. When considering the original function and age of the poster it is in remarkably good condition. We have had the poster professionally framed and mounted - an off-white mount with a solid light oak frame and backed with acid-free board. There is a wire for hanging the poster already fixed to the reverse. Measurements - 36.5 cm high x 29 cm wide x 1.5 cm deep
