Small 19th Century walnut bookcase

Price: £

Description: Once, this open walnut bookcase (Circa 1870) was part of the contents of a Victorian school house, situated at the bottom of Box Hill in Dorking. After 150 years it was a little tired but we saw its potential - small and attractive antique bookcases with adjustable shelves are hard to find, so it warranted our restorers attention. After sensitive restoration it is now ready for another century of enjoyment and use. Originally the shelves (20 cm deep) would have had a decorative leather trim running along the front of each, which can be re-instated if so desired. On this occasion we have erred on the side of simplicity, however you the customer have the final say. We retain the services of a specialist leather worker but there would be an additional charge for this extra work. Measurements - 97 cm high x 69 cm wide x 28 cm deep
