Pair of burr walnut Art Deco bedside cabinets
Price: £950.00
Description: As you can see from their distinctive design, these attractive burr walnut bedside cabinets date to the Art Deco period (Circa 1920s). A period of style and opulence that was brought to life so vividly within P G Wodehouse's novels. A hundred years have passed but their appeal has not diminished. This is because they enhance both contemporary and period interiors. Originally, they formed part of an Art Deco dressing table, however, their stylish shape and overall design made them an irresistible project for our restorers to convert them into bedside cabinets. They also benefit from being slightly deeper, giving you enough space to display several items, such as a pair of Deco period lamps, which always look terrific. Now they have been traditionally polished, the burr walnut veneer, which was so carefully chosen and laid by the original cabinet maker, has a subtle mirror-like quality. The super Bakelite and chrome handles are all original and in excellent condition. The mahogany lined draws have been constructed using finely cut dovetail joints. We have ordered two pieces of glass, with polished edges, to be cut. These will protect their decorative walnut tops, and replace the original pieces that have been mislaid during their lifetime. These will be included within the asking price. A lovely pair of bedside cabinets. Measurements - 28 cm wide x 51 cm deep x 75.5 cm high.
