Description: This glazed English bookcase dates to Circa 1860, and unusually, it is veneered in amboyna; this colour of amboyna is particularly desirable and rarely seen as a decorative veneer on English furniture. The moldings are made of solid rosewood - another feature that suggests quality and high cost at the time of manufacture. The bookcase has been professionally and sensitively restored and retains a lovely colour & surface indicative of its age. The glazing is original, and the quality of construction is excellent.
