Gothic revival brass offertory dishes in the manner of A.W.N Pugin
Price: £75.00
Description: These three (now two) highly evocative gothic revival offertory dishes are stamped by the stained glass and ecclesiastical art suppliers, Cox Buckley & Company of London, and are dated 1896. They are very much in the manner of Pugin and would sit comfortably within an Arts & Crafts setting. The surface of each dish has been intermittently cleaned, however, this has added to their character and appeal - some of the original protective tinted gilt lacquer is still visible and vibrant, and in the areas where it has been worn away, there is a pleasing tonal change. An interesting and decorative group. (priced separately) Measurements - 30.5 cm diameter
