Description: This original film poster was printed in Britain in 1942 to promote United Artists' talking version of Charlie Chaplin's 1925 classic 'The Gold Rush'. As you would expect, after being displayed on a door during the movies first run and then rolled up for more than 80 years, the poster has a few minor condition issues, however, in my opinion these do not detract from ones overall viewing pleasure - halfway across the very top of the poster, and running vertically down, there is a 15cm vertical tear; there are four horizontal and fairly indistinct old crease lines to the paper, and also a couple of age related minor separations towards the bottom of the image. To stabilise the condition of the poster and add even more visual impact, we have represented it within a contemporary black frame – now you can enjoy this wonderful poster, safe in the knowledge that it will not deteriorate any further and with the option of commissioning further conservation work, such as relining, in the future if so desired.
