Description: This antique French walnut armchair or fauteuil (Circa 1900) was acquired by Culvertons, because we felt it was particularly attractive, finely carved and in a very good useable condition. In fact it is one of two such armchairs we have recently brought into stock from the same private source. The other, which is being sold separately, and can be also viewed via Culvertons online shop, is of a similar age and size, and also traditionally upholstered in the same fine light gold and duck egg blue Damask fabric, however their carved walnut show frames do differ. Each has a feather filled throw cushion. There are two minor marks on the upholstery of this example (see photos) - one on the left-hand side of the seat and the other on the cushion. The cushion cover has a zip so it can be removed for cleaning. An elegant and comfortable armchair that is ready to be used and enjoyed either singly or as matching pair.
