An original painted panel – probably from a fairground
Description: This charming piece of folk art came from a wonderful private collection of decorative items - this slightly curved panel was probably one segment of a circular fairground stall or ride from the early part of the 20th Century (Circa 1900). The combination of the artist's spontaneous approach to its floral decoration and the weathering to the paintwork from years of being exposed to the elements, has greatly increased its decorative appeal. The panel is being offered in its original state - its structurally sound, and as you can see, it still has its original metal fixings (perfectly positioned for hanging) . Desirability in the current decorative driven market is judged by an items ability to enhance a contemporary setting - we think this panel has all the elements to score highly. At its deepest point the frame sits approximately 9cm proud from wall. Overall measurements - height 28cm x depth of frame 5 cm x width 144 cm.
