An inlaid satinwood armchair frame with ormolu mounts

Price: £

Description: Prior to removing the original upholstery this decorative satinwood armchair (Circa 1890) form Southern Europe was tested for comfort; it passed with flying colours. Its attractive design offers the sitter a high & supportive back, spacious seat & well positioned arm supports. The well chosen satinwood veneer has been laid upon a strong & well constructed beech frame. A finely inlaid panel of classical figures, in the manner reminiscent of the Sorrento workshops, decorates the top rail. Well cast ormulu mounts are used sparingly to enhance the design and support the turned satinwood legs. The original upholstery & springing has been retained - this is a valuable resource & refererence for any future upholsterer and will accompany the frame. This chair frame is available as viewed, with any future choice of fabric & upholsterer left to you, or Culvertons can undertake its upholstery on your behalf. Measurements - 102 cm high x 67 cm wide x 62 cm deep
