An antique Georgian six-drawer oak Welsh dresser

Price: £

Description: This attractive George III oak dresser is a particularly nice example, it is probably from North Wales, and dates to between 1790 -1820. As well as retaining a lovely warm and inviting colour, it still has its original wide patinated backboards, full-height bracket feet, and mahogany, diamond-shaped escutcheons, which were popular during this period. Antique dressers are perfect vehicles for displaying both contemporary and antique dinner services and provide much-needed storage within the kitchen. This example has six drawers, each constructed with original hand-cut nails, as well as plenty of cupboard space (original locks and key). As you expect, after two hundred years, there are some indications of it being used for its original purpose, which is good to see, and part and parcel of the appeal of antique furniture. It has been professionally restored in the past, and as you can see it remains in a good honest usable condition. I have always found antique dressers to be full of character and charm - this is a good example of a much-loved piece of antique furniture. Measurements - 156 cm wide x 50 cm deep x 198.5 cm high
