Description: A particularly good example of a work of art by the Austrian painter Albert Meindl (1891 - 1967) - it beautifully conveys the heat of the Mediterranean sun and transports you to warmer climes. Albert, known for his expressive style and choice of palette, has used his talents to the full in this depiction of villagers beside the Amalfi Coast - we cannot be sure of its location but the consensus of opinion is overwhelmingly in favour of this area. This oil painting's appealing subject matter, broad and spontaneous execution plus its desirable and commercial size are all in its favour - until recently this artwork formed part of a private collection, so, as far as we know, it has not been recorded as being previously offered for sale at auction. The canvas is displayed within it's original ebonised frame and the painting is currently in a very good unrestored condition - however, within the price stated, we will carry out the small amount of restoration work required.
