A very large 19th Century glass dome on an ebonised base

Price: £

Description: Very large round glass domes from the 19th Century, such as this fine example, are scarce. So, when we were offered three antique domes without their bases, including this rare oversized one, the decision to turn sympathetic antique mahogany bases for them (matching an original pattern) and ebonise them in a traditional manner was an easy one to make. Supporting the base are four small turned and ebonised feet. Because of their fragile nature, we are not willing to package and deliver domes using high street couriers or postal services. However, we are more than happy to dispatch these items throughout England, Wales, and Scotland using trusted private couriers, or of course, you may collect them from our shop in Dorking, Surrey. The measurements of the dome itself are - height 60cm x diameter 39 cm (the base has a diameter of 43.5 cm, and the overall height including the base is 65 cm)
