Description: The original Heals trade button is inset in the top right-hand drawer of this stylish light oak pedestal desk. However, this piece is so distinctive, it really doesn't require a close examination. It has all the hallmarks of being by this celebrated London company - it is well-designed, nicely made, and even though it is nearing its 100th birthday, it is still as relevant today as it was when it was made. As you can see from the images, the desk has been restored to a high standard. The full leather hide writing surface has been hand-dyed and tooled to mimic the original, which was too worn to revive (image available). The locks have been serviced, and replacement keys cut so they can once again be operated. One of the benefits of having no middle drawer is the increased amount of legroom afforded to the user - which we find is particularly appealing to our taller customers (height to underside of desktop - 71cm) A good-looking desk that will enhance a broad range of interiors.
