Description: This magnificent Georgian (Circa 1830) bow-fronted mahogany chest of drawers stands at an impressive 1.35 metres high. Its fine construction, elegant design and attractive well-figured grain and surface colour not only pay testament to its maker but also to its previous owners who, as you can see from the images, have treasured it over the ensuing years. The 6 spacious drawers retain all of their original gilded brass handles and slide in and out effortlessly. Remarkably, after two hundred years of use and changing atmospheric conditions, the only visible movement in its mahogany carcase is the shallowest of ripples that run across its top. Discovered in a historic dwelling in Chichester, this antique chest of drawers has been previously professionally and sensitively restored and very well looked after. This practical and attractive piece of period English furniture measures - 109 cm wide x 61 cm deep x 135 cm high.
