A cast iron stretcher table attributed to Coalbrookdale

Price: £

Description: This fine and attractive cast iron stretcher table would most probably have been used in a conservatory, orangery, or garden in the middle of the 19th Century. What's particularly nice about this example, is that it retains its original cast iron top - and if you look underneath (see image) you can see the outline of the original diamond registration mark and the maker's name (most probably C B Dale) Due to weathering, the lettering is now illegible but it is a lovely indication of its originality. The table is in good condition with no cracks or breaks to the cast iron and its structure is rigid - however, one of the eight original cast iron bolts that secure the top to the base is missing. Prior to delivery, we will consult with our specialist about replacing it, although experience tells me it may be best left in its present state. Measurements - 83 cm long x 41 cm deep x 70.5 cm high
