A cast iron garden bench to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1887

Price: £675.00

Description: This attractive and very comfortable cast iron garden bench was made to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. We can be certain of this, because the registration number for that year (72957) can be clearly seen within the casting, also the bench ends are decorated with national symbols and flowers of the United Kingdom, including the rose, thistle, daffodil, and shamrock. The wooden slats would have been changed many times over the last 138 years, however, the current set are nicely weathered and structurally sound. A pleasing and interesting antique cast iron bench that is not too large for the average sized garden.
