Pair of Georgian oak Corinthian columns

Price: £

Description: This impressive pair of Georgian oak Corinthian columns more than likely supported a portico or stood either side of a doorway in the 18th Century. This idea, of possibly being situated close to a wall or structure, would explain why the finely carved detailing is limited to three sides of the gilded capitals and peters out towards the reverse of the columns. The columns and capitals have been made from solid oak and could support a substantial weight. As you would expect, there are signs of previous restoration, and we would be happy to continue this conservation work under the direction of their future owner. The width and depth stated below are the dimensions of the capitals. Measurements approximately  211 cm high x 34 wide x 34 wide
