Description: This mahogany dressing table mirror first came to our notice when we were approached to purchase the contents of an elegant Georgian town house in the London Borough of Kensington. Although relegated to the floor and rather neglected, there was something rather appealing about this unusual mirror. Its design draws your attention, as does the quality of its construction and mellow colour. Structurally it was sound, just needing some sensitive restoration to enhance its surface, which it duly received. When antiques do not follow a recognized design, its sometimes because, at some stage in the past, it has been married (joined) together, using the best elements from two or more pieces. Even though there are no obvious signs, this lovely mirror may possibly fit into this category. If it does then it’s a marriage made in heaven and one that was almost certainly consummated in the 19th Century. Measurements - 66 cm high x 38 cm wide x 24 cm deep
