An artist’s anatomical study of a hand – terracotta with plaster slip (Circa 1920)
Price: £
Description: This decorative anatomical study of a hand dates to the early twentieth century. It is made from terracotta and finished with a brushed plaster slip. A fragment of a label, bearing the remains of a number (possibly 83 or 85) is adhered to the base, suggesting that this was one of a series of anatomical studies produced for artists wishing to study the human form. Several small dabs of differently coloured oil paint are visible on the surface, which further supports this theory.
