Now, after a visit to our restoration workshops, its surface has been enhanced, revealing the original rich tones of mahogany that lay hidden for so long. I am sure the artisan who originally made this bookcase would be surprised to learn that their choice of combining a simple design and good-quality timber would still be in fashion during the Charlean age, 120 years later.
